The Krank Formula FIRE X TOUR is the most specialised head in the Formula FIRE TOUR lineup. It is specifically designed to maximise distance for golfers who have lost some swing speed and noticable distance down the fairway, where many modern drivers simply do not deliver enough spring effect to create meaningful ball speed. Krank positions the X TOUR as a High COR option with their middle face thickness.

If you want to build this head correctly for your swing, book here: Krank driver fittings at Outtabounds.

Who the X TOUR is for

Krank rates the X TOUR for golfers with average drives between 200 yards and 249 yards and 90 - 104 mph swing speed. If that sounds like you, the X TOUR is designed to give you something many standard “one face for everyone” drivers struggle to provide: a stronger spring effect at slower speed.

Key technology and performance notes

Super-Hot forged beta titanium, deep-cupped face

The X TOUR head is built around Krank’s Formula FIRE face engineering and a deep-cupped face concept. In practical terms, the aim is a face that stays lively and fast across a wider area, so you keep more ball speed when contact is not perfect.

Refined bulge and roll (gear effect control)

Krank’s FIRE TOUR heads use a refined face curvature (bulge and roll) intended to improve how toe and heel strikes behave. This matters because slower swing speeds cannot afford big distance loss from small mishits.

If you want the full explanation in plain English, read: Krank Golf: Bulge and Roll Explained.

Stability features to tighten dispersion

Distance only helps if it stays in play. The X TOUR includes stability-focused design elements (including weight port design and shaping intended to reduce curvature) so your pattern can tighten up while you chase more speed.

Adjustable hosel system (Tri-Sleeve adapter)

The X TOUR driver head uses Krank’s Tri-Sleeve adapter system, which allows you to make meaningful adjustments without rotating the shaft in the head. During a fitting, this adjustability helps us fine-tune your setup so we can improve:

  • Loft and launch window (carry distance and peak height)
  • Spin control (too much spin stalls, too little drops out of the air)
  • Start line (so you can aim confidently)

If you want to get the most from the adjustable sleeve, book here: Krank driver fittings at Outtabounds.

Important note on competition use and “legality”

Krank states that the FIRE X TOUR and FIRE XX TOUR drivers have not been submitted for USGA conformity testing. That matters if you play events that require your driver to appear on the Conforming Driver Head List.

If you play club competitions and you want the clearest guidance, read: Are Krank drivers legal?.

Note: Competition rules can vary. If you play events with strict equipment checks, verify your exact model and loft on the Conforming Driver Head List.

Why fitting matters more than the head

The X TOUR is built to help slower swing speeds, but the biggest gains come when the full build matches how you deliver the club. In a fitting we focus on:

  • Strike pattern (centre contact equals more ball speed)
  • Loft and sleeve settings (launch and spin window)
  • Shaft weight and profile (timing and face control)
  • Length (often the fastest route to better strike and dispersion)
  • Grip size (including JumboMax if you use oversized grips)
