With winter constantly nipping at our heels, it's time the Outtabounds juniors to start getting excited for the upcoming Junior Virtually 6’s Winter League!
This isn’t just any ordinary winter league; it’s an exciting Golf Foundation national pilot.
An indoor event, where teams of 6 (and squad of up to 12) junior golfers will face off in a friendly indoor golf league.
So, what’s all the buzz about?
The VG6’s is designed to be a fun and engaging way for young golfers to play and practice over the colder months. The league allows participants to compete in teams, virtually, in a pairs *Texas Scramble style format.
It means that junior golfers who play or practice that are local to Outtabounds; Chilwell Manor, Beeston Fields, Erewash, Wollaton, and Trent Lock, will have the chance to join up with players from outside of their club memberships or casual playing partners.
The Format
- Played in teams of 6 (players can change between fixtures).
- Using a Pairs Texas Scramble format
- Over 6 holes (played indoors on the simulator)
- Pairs will score points (1-10) for each hole)
- Scores are anonymised
The league is set to kick off in just a couple of weeks and we couldn't be more excited.
Each week will see friendly competitions where the teams can show what they’ve got, while also fostering sportsmanship and learning the game.

Outtabounds now have 3 junior teams; Outtabounds Flames, Outtabounds Sparks, and Outtabounds Infernos.

* A Texas Scramble is a fun and social format often played in golf tournaments. In this format, each player on a team tees off on each hole, and then the team chooses the best shot among them. Everyone then plays their next shot from that chosen spot, and this process continues until the ball is holed. It makes for a fast-paced game, as players can help each other out, and it’s great for players of all skill levels since everyone contributes!
